An important step forward in the knowledge of flood risk and its mitigation: the assessment of flood damagee: la valutazione del danno da alluvione

The Po River District Basin Authority and 8 other Italian research centers have signed an agreement to update the maps of the expected damage in case of flooding in the district’s territory. A better assessment of the damages will allow a more effective risk management, with the possibility of planning the interventions of mitigation based on cost-benefit analysis and to support the decisions during the emergency towards the protection of the most fragile elements. The first results will be communicated soon.

Academy National Workshop

The participation at the eventi is free and it is organized jointly by the Politecnico di Milano, the User Forum and the network of the National Academies. Moreover, also the representatives of the UE Committee and the executive agencies ECMWF and JRC, will join the event.
