The workshop is part of the events related to the Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile 2021. Its aim is to discuss the strategies for the recovery, use ad reuse of unconventional water resources in future cities.

The future scenarios of water supply reduction, in relation to the alterations of climatic dynamics and the spread of environmental pollution, make it necessary to define new strategies for the satisfaction of water needs. A significative contribution could arrive from the recovery, use and reuse of unconventional water sources. The goals will be: avoid the wastefulness of selected resources; obtain energy savings; increase urban areas resilience facing changes and guarantee a long-term sustainability of water infrastructures.

During the event, the results of a study at Politecnico di Milano will be presented, in addition to two experimental projects regarding new water infrastructures for the reuse of unconventional water that are going to be realized in Milano.
