Speaker’s bio

Elisa Ragno is an Assistant Professor in the group of Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk in the department of Hydraulic Engineering. She holds a MSc in Structural Civil Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (2012) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine (2018). Her research interests focus on probabilistic assessment and modelling of natural hazards (floods and droughts) for improving infrastructure resilience and implications of climate change on infrastructure design and risk management. Her expertise includes stationary and nonstationary extreme value analysis and dependence modelling via copulas and Bayesian Networks.
