PhDTalks | A New Numerical Strategy for Flow-Like Landslides Impact Risk Assessment

Siamo lieti di annunciare che il prossimo Seminario PhDTalk si terrà martedì 12 aprile 2022 nell’aula 5.0.2 dalle 18:15 alle 19:15 CET.

PhDTalk è una serie di seminari e discussioni tra dottorandi. Gli eventi hanno lo scopo di fornire un luogo dove creare un network tra dottorandi ed entrare in contatto con i molti progetti sviluppati nel nostro dipartimento.

Lo speaker Matteo Zerbi ci parlerà di “A New Numerical Strategy for Flow-Like Landslides Impact Risk Assessment”

Abstract: 

Flow-like landslides are extremely rapid and impact large areas. Risk mitigation measures are therefore aimed at deviating/arresting the flowing material. To simulate the dynamic interaction between the flowing mass and obstacles, a new constitutive model for granular materials, accounting for large strain rates and solid-fluid phase transitions, has been implemented with a Material Point Method formulation. 

L’evento sarà in presenza presso l’aula 5.0.2, Politecnico di Milano, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 42, 20133 Milano, e online al seguente link (Webex).
Al termine dell’evento sarà disponibile un piccolo rinfresco finanziato dal dipartimento.
