Probabilistic Analysis of Hydroclimatic Extremes: Exploring Interactions in Coastal and Riverine Environments

October 24 @ 14:30 - 15:30

Thursday, October 24, at 2:30 PM, in Fassò Room (Building 4A, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 32), a seminar titled “Probabilistic Analysis of Hydroclimatic Extremes: Exploring Interactions in Coastal and Riverine Environments” will be held by Dr. Elisa Ragno (Assistant Professor in the Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk group in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at Delft University of Technology).

The seminar will also be broadcast online via WebEx through the following link.

Speaker’s bio
Elisa Ragno is an Assistant Professor in the Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk group in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. She holds an MSc in Structural Civil Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (2012) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine (2018). Her research focuses on the probabilistic assessment and modeling of natural hazards (floods and droughts) to improve infrastructure resilience, as well as the implications of climate change on infrastructure design and risk management. Her expertise includes stationary and nonstationary extreme value analysis and dependence modeling using copulas and Bayesian Networks.
